2 NET CARBS PER SERVING
A Delicious Almond Flour Cracker Recipe
If you’ve never made your own crackers, you’ll be surprised at how simple it really is! This easy almond flour recipe can be made with 3 basic ingredients, plus water.
They are the perfect gluten-free crackers, and also suitable for low carb or keto lifestyles.
There’s no need to go without your favorite crunchy snacks on the keto diet – with some creativity, crackers can be homemade with low carb ingredients.
While I love the Simple Mills almond flour crackers, they are not keto-friendly. The crackers have a base of tapioca starch and cassava flour – giving a serving of crackers 16 grams of net carbs (18 grams of carbs + 2 grams of fiber).
Skip the expensive grocery store options, and make your own for a fraction of the cost.
Over the years, I have tested this recipe with additional ingredients, like adding butter, olive oil, seeds, and seasonings, and have found that the simpler the ingredients, the better the crackers.
Now that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun with these! Delicious plain, they are are also the perfect canvas to create your own perfect cracker flavors. Below I list directions for adding a cheesy spin, an herby-flavor, or adding seeds for nutrition.
Another big PLUS of this recipe? It’s SIMPLE! If you’re going to start making your own crackers, it better be quick and easy. Made in 1 bowl, with no food processor necessary, these are ready for the oven in about 5 minutes.
What You’ll Need
These rely on only quality ingredients! All of the recipes on Blissfully Low Carb are based around whole, natural foods, and never use gums like xanthan gum.
- Almond Flour (blanched almond flour gives these a more classic cracker texture. Almond meal works, but the crackers will have a softer texture.)
- Flax Meal (optional, added for nutrition and an enhanced nutty flavor)
- Water
- Sea Salt (and flakey sea salt to top, if desired!)
- Optional Flavor Additions: everything bagel seasoning, chia seeds, sesame seeds, garlic powder, or herbs like thyme and rosemary.
Kitchen Tools:
How to Make Almond Flour Crackers
Step 1: Add the dry ingredients into a medium sized mixing bowl. This includes the almond flour and salt, and optional flax seed meal, sesame seeds, or everything but the bagel seasoning. If you’re adding parmesan cheese or seeds, this is where you’d add them! Mix the dry ingredients to combine.
Step 2: Add water, and stir to combine. The dough should hold together but not be too sticky. It’s okay to add 1 tablespoon of water at a time to get the dough to hold together, or a little more almond flour if it seems too sticky to roll out.
Step 3: Place dough on a piece of parchment paper, rolled into a ball. I use a very large piece, place the ball of dough on it, and then fold it over the top so I can roll the dough out between two pieces of parchment paper. These crackers taste the best when rolled thin, so try to roll them out as thin and evenly as possible, in a 10″ x 15″ rectangle.
Step 4: Cut the top part of the parchment paper off, and slide the thinly rolled almond flour cracker dough onto a large baking sheet (I use 1/2 sheet pans). Use a sharp knife to cut the crackers into 1-inch squares. This can be done with a pizza wheel but I have found that a large knife makes cleaner cuts.
Step 5: Bake the crackers in a preheated oven for 20 minutes. They should be lightly browned. Watch them closely so they don’t over brown or burn, which is easy to do with almond flour. After the crackers have completely cooled, gently break them apart into squares.
How to Store Almond Flour Crackers
Once the crackers have fully cooled, pack in an air tight container and store at room temperature for about 3 days.
For longer storing, pack the crackers in an air-tight container and freeze for up to 6 months. The crackers defrost in minutes, so take out servings when ready to enjoy!

- Super Seed: Add chia seeds, flax meal, and sunflower seeds for an extra boost of nutrition and flavor.

Can I use coconut flour? No, coconut flour has very different properties than almond flour because of it’s high fiber content.

I was about to give up on keto crackers until I tried this recipe. I’ve only just taken these out of the oven and started eating some of the irregularly shaped bits along the edges, but I can already tell these crackers and I are going to be very good friends. I made the basic recipe with EBTB seasoning, and now I can’t wait to try some of the other variations. And using a knife to cut the squares worked so much better than the pizza wheel. Thanks for that tip and for the recipe.!

I adore these 🙂 I have a couple other methods for keto crackers that are equally delicious — I will post them soon!

These have a lot of potential, but mine came out super salty! I added the salt in the recipe plus the EBTB as an add in. I’m guessing I was supposed to omit the salt if using the EBTB??
Michelle Miller says
I like them with salt and EBTB!
Allison says
I made them again without EBTB and they were perfect! Maybe my EBTB has more salt than it should 🤷🏻♀️

Fantastic crackers

So happy I found this recipe! Tried another that had a lot more ingredients, and the “dough” was very sticky and hard to work with. THESE are a breeze! And taste GREAT! Thank you so much!

These crackers are amazing! I’ve made them several times. Thanks so much for the recipe. Question, though — in the notes, you suggest serving them with soup, such as “Keto Sausage Soup”. But there’s no link! I’d love to try that soup. Please will you add the recipe link?

Thanks for letting me know you love these crackers! You should try the cheese crackers too — so easy and so addicting! https://blissfullylowcarb.com/keto-cheese-crackers/
And definitely make some Italian sausage soup to go with both! 🙂 https://blissfullylowcarb.com/italian-sausage-soup/
